Three of the yarns are mohair, two are a kind of shiny thick-and-thin boucclé, one is a flat knit ribbon, one is a fluffy cotton-ish chenille, and one is a regular yarn in bulky weight. It's knit on US 11 needles in a feather-and-fan pattern. The kit comes in a great variety of color sets and the instructions include six different ways to knit or crochet it into a throw (or afghan, or lap blanket -- whatever you want to call it).
